Harlow Council hold a fund of several hundred thousand pounds called the Church Langley Fund....it was left by the builders of Church Langley and currently our local Councillors are trying to locate the original documentation to find out what it was intended for.
What do you think it should be used for?

Obviously depends a lot on what they documents say, but my top three suggestions would probably be:

- getting some of the paths repaired

- getting an extra yard of pavement put in in a few places to provide sensible connections between different paths (a consequence of every other street having been built by a different developer)

- subsidising any-company-other-than-Arriva to provide a decent bus service

the paths should be dealt with by the Council....interesting idea about the bus service though

The council should maintain the pavements, but in those cases where (for whatever reason - maybe Andrew/Simon/Tony can comment?) they are out of repair for a long time then it may be worth considering.

Have we heard anything more about this fund? I heard, a couple of years ago, that this money had been absorbed into Council funds and disappeared!

It would be interesting to know what the Developers suggested it be used for. Most things that need doing in Church Langley are Council responsibility!

We had the monthly Committee meeting for the CLRA tonight and we were advised that there is a meeting scheduled soon for our ward Councillors for this very matter.....I will advise of any update.

How about putting it towards a crossing for Lane End, one is certainly needed there.

The petition for this has now gone to Essex CC and a response sent to Andie Norris....it is a case of wait and see at the moment. Our Ward Councillors do have a meeting coming up about the fund, I am assured that there is no time limit with this S106 fund but we are still trying to find out how it can best be used for us residents.
